Iran Hopes To Return Oil Exports To Pre-Sanctions Level

Iran hopes its oil exports will return to pre-sanctions levels within three months once a nuclear deal is reached with world powers.

Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Rokneddin Javadi told the Reuters news agency on May 18 that he hoped "we can come back to the export levels that we had before the sanctions."

Javadi said the aim was to export around 2.5 million barrels per day.

Javadi, who is also the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company, was speaking on the sidelines of the Asia Oil and Gas Conference in Malaysia.

Iran and world powers are currently holding talks over a comprehensive nuclear deal that would limit Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief, including the lifting of an oil embargo.
