Iran's parliament has approved the final remaining minister in President Hassan Rohani's cabinet after rejecting the first three nominees for the post.

In the parliamentary session on November 17, 199 out of the 267 lawmakers voted to confirm Mahmud Goudarzi as sports and youth minister.

The confirmation brings an end to a three-month process of filling the cabinet.

The conservative-dominated parliament approved most key posts in August but objected to the president's nominees for less significant posts, accusing them of being inexperienced and sympathetic to the opposition Green Movement.

Goudarzi is a Tehran University professor in physical-education planning.

The 58-year-old is not a major figure in any political faction, although he was a member of the powerful Revolutionary Guards in the early 1980s.
