Kazakhstan has limited the sale of strong alcohol beverages.
Kazakh presidential press service said that President Nursultan Nazarbaev had signed the law on amendments to the law on selling of alcoholic beverages on June 18.
According to the bill, alcoholic beverages stronger than 30 percent must not be sold anywhere, except bars and restaurants, between 2100 and 1200.
The bill also bans any alcoholic beverages sells at gasoline stations, educational and sports facilities.
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Bakhyt Sultanov said earlier this month that Kazakhstan leads among other Central Asian states in alcohol consuming. According to Sultanov, the average annual alcohol consumption in Kazakhstan is 11 liters of vodka per person.
