BISHKEK – A court in Bishkek has ruled that a female wrestler facing hooliganism charges can still travel to London to compete in the Olympic Games, which begin next week.

The trial of Kyrgyz national Olympic team member Aisuluu Tynybekova will resume in August after she returns from London.

Tynybekova is on trial for allegedly causing bodily harm to a teenage girl during a street fight in the Kyrgyz capital in April.

The victim's family claims Tynybekova broke the girl's nose and caused other injures to her face and head.

The 19-year-old wrestler denies the allegation, saying she acted only in self-defense.
