Senior ministers of Britain, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates have visited the British hospital treating the gravely wounded Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai.

Britain's Foreign Office said Foreign Secretary William Hague, Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik, and UAE Foreign Minister Sheik Abdullah bin Zayed met Malala's father and medical staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

They did not meet Malala.

The 15-year-old, who had campaigned for girls' right to education, was shot in the head by the Pakistani Taliban on her way back from school in Pakistan's Swat Valley.

The October 8 attack sparked worldwide outrage.

Several days later, Malala was flown to Britain for specialized treatment in an air ambulance provided by the UAE.

The hospital says she is making good progress in her recovery.
