Paramedics and emergency services rush to the scene of a massive explosion outside Jerusalem's central bus station.

A massive explosion occurred near Jerusalem's busy central bus station on March 23, killing at least one person and injuring more than 20 others.

Israeli authorities blamed Palestinian militants for the blast, which was the first major attack in Jerusalem in several years.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed his departure to Russia following the incident. He was scheduled to hold talks with Russian leaders in Moscow and return March 24.

Jerusalem was the scene of dozens of attacks and suicide bombings that targeted buses and restaurants during a Palestinian uprising over last decade. But the last suicide attack hit the city in 2004.
