Police: Militants Kill 3 Pakistani Policemen In Country's North

Pakistani police have said a militant attack on a police checkpoint in the country's north killed at least three policemen.

One policeman was also reported wounded.

The attack took place overnight in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which lies near the country's restive Swat Valley.

The Swat region, formely a Taliban stronghold, was the focus of a major offensive by the Pakistani army in 2009.

The area continues to see instances of violence.
