The bodies of two German citizens who disappeared in a province north of Kabul last month have been found.
Parwan Province Governor Basir Salangi told Reuters news agency that the two "appeared to have been killed by gunshots."
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said in late August that two German citizens were missing in Afghanistan and may have been kidnapped.
Westerwelle declined at the time to give any details about the identity of the citizens.
