At least 10,000 people have protested against Moldova's government in the capital, Chisinau.

Protesters gathered in a main Chisinau square on October 4 for the fourth consecutive Sunday.

Some participants scuffled with police after they tried to enter parliament.

Mass rallies got under way on September 6, when tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Chisinau to protest the pro-Western governing coalition's failure to come to grips with corruption and implement genuine reforms.

The protesters are demanding an investigation into the up to $1.5 billion that disappeared from three Moldovan banks last year and for those responsible to be prosecuted.

They are also demanding early elections and for the president, the prime minister, and other officials to resign.
