MOSCOW – Russian police have questioned opposition figures Aleksei Navalny and Sergei Udaltsov for a second consecutive day, one day after tens of thousands of people rallied in Moscow against President Vladimir Putin's continued rule.

Authorities say the two men are being questioned over violence between police and protesters that broke out at the end of a May 6 demonstration in Moscow.

Navalny said after his questioning on June 13 that he refused to provide investigators with a sample of his handwriting.

Navalny did not attend the June 12 antigovernment rally in Moscow because he was being questioned by the federal Investigative Committeee.

Moscow police raided the apartments of Navalny, Udaltsov, and other opposition figures on June 11 as part of an apparent crackdown on their activities.
