Hundreds of people have demonstrated outside the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, accusing Russia of playing a role in the death of Poland’s president in a plane crash.

The rally came on the eve of the third anniversary of the April 10, 2010, crash near Smolensk, Russia, that killed President Lech Kaczynski and 95 other people.

The rally was organized by Poland’s right-wing opposition.

Polish and Russian investigators have blamed pilot error for the crash, which occurred as the Russian-built Tupolev Tu-154 airliner attempted to land in thick fog.

Investigations into the crash have ruled out sabotage.

But some Poles say they are convinced that Russian operatives conspired to bring down the plane in a bid to silence Kaczynski, who was known as a critic of Kremlin policies.
