Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Russian President Vladimir Putin and the visiting president of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, will sign a series of documents after talks in Moscow.

The two were scheduled to meet for one-on-one talks on April 26, a so-called narrow format, before their meeting is expanded to include other officials and members of Karimov's delegation.

Putin and Karimov spoke on April 25 during what Peskov described as an "informal" meeting and a dinner.

Their talks during Karimov's two-day visit were expected to focus on ways to boost bilateral ties. They also were expected to discuss regional and global issues.
