Russia Returns Body Of Slain Kyrgyz Taxi Driver

MOSCOW -- The body of a 25-year-old Kyrgyz man killed in Moscow has been returned to Kyrgyzstan, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

Almaz Abdisyaev, a lawyer at the Kyrgyz Embassy in Moscow, told RFE/RL that Chyngyz Supataev was found in his car in Moscow on January 4 with his throat cut.

Abdisyaev said Supataev worked in Moscow as a taxi driver. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Abdisyaev said the Kyrgyz Embassy in Moscow has sent an official request to Russia's Prosecutor-General's Office to provide information about the investigation of all murders or attacks on Kyrgyz citizens in Moscow and other Russian cities.

The bodies of more than 50 murdered Kyrgyz citizens were returned to Kyrgyzstan's southern regions of Osh and Batken from Russia last year.

In most cases the killers have not been indentified.
