A suspect has been detained in the death of Moscow television personality Andrei Rybakin.

Rybakin, 25, was a popular host at the 360° Podmoskovye television channel.

He was found dead in his Moscow apartment on July 15.

Moscow police said on July 16 that the suspect had been a longtime acquaintance of Rybakin's. His name was not released.

Earlier reports said Rybakin had been found with a gunshot wound to his head.

However, police said on July 16 that he died from an open head injury, which may have been inflicted by a baseball bat.
