Belarusian Opposition Leaders Fined For Rallies

With presidential elections scheduled for October 11, the country’s central district court fined former presidential candidate Mikalay Statkevich the equivalent of $500 for holding an unauthorized rally in Minsk on September 16. Former presidential candidate Uladzimer Nyaklyaeu and United Civic Party leader Anatol Lyabedzka have been fined on similar charges.

Azerbaijan Does Not Rule Out Eurasian Economic Union
