The coach of Ukraine's national soccer team said 10 players on the team were stricken with food poisoning.

Oleg Blokhin said on June 6 that it was not clear what the players ate to make them ill, nor was it possible to say whether the mass illness would affect Ukraine's chances at the Euro 2012 championship.

The incident occurred in Germany where Ukraine played and lost their final friendly match 2-0 against Turkey on June 5.

Blokhin spoke after the team's return to Kyiv for the tournament, which Ukraine co-hosts with Poland on June 8-July 1.

Ukraine is due to play against Sweden on June 11.
