Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has declared that his treatment for cancer has been successful, and that he no longer has the disease.
Chavez made the announcement after returning to Venezuela on October 20 from medical tests in Cuba.
The leftist Venezuelan leader had a malignant tumor removed in June in Cuba, and has since undergone four rounds of chemotherapy.
After his return on October 20, Chavez made a pilgrimage to the Venezuelan Catholic shrine of Santo Cristo de la Grita to give thanks for his recovery.

"Almost four months ago, exactly at the same time at this hour, I was in the operating room undergoing a procedure that lasted seven hours," Chavez told a crowd of supporters. "The cancer was treated and now, like a miracle, four months later, I am here standing again before you. I am here with you on the streets, four months later!"
The 57-year-old Chavez has presided over Venezuela for the past 13 years and has pledged to run for reelection in a vote due in October, 2012.
