Georgia: Top Security Council Official Sees 'Dignified Role' For Russia On Abkhazia

EU foreign-policy chief Javier Solana travels to Tbilisi and Sukhumi on June 5-6 to urge a resolution of the crisis over breakaway Abkhazia. Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is also due to meet Russia's new president, Dmitry Medvedev, to push a Georgian peace deal that proposes replacing Russian peacekeepers with an EU-trained local police force. RFE/RL Tbilisi correspondent Eka Tsamalashvili spoke to Alexandre Lomaia, secretary of Georgia's National Security Council, about the plan. More
