24 February 2006 -- Serbia's prime minister says his government is doing all it can to bring the fugitive war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic to justice.
Vojislav Kostunica said the government was fully determined to hand Mladic over to the UN war crimes tribunal at The Hague, adding he would do what is necessary to take Serbia into the European Union.

The EU has made repeated demands for Mladic to be brought to justice and made it a condition before Serbia can expect closer links with the bloc.

Kostunica's comments come after days of media speculation – denied by the authorities -- that Mladic has been located or even captured.

The former Bosnian Serb commander is charged with war crimes dating from the Bosnian war of the 1990s, including the Srebrenica massacre.
