Two Synagogues Attacked In Russia

September 22, 2006 – Vandals have attacked two synagogues in Russia, one in Siberia and one in the south of the country.

In Khabarovsk, close to the border with China, windows were shattered.


In the other incident, in the southern Russian city of Astrakhan, the assailants threw a Molotov cocktail.


No injuries were reported in either incident.


Russia's chief rabbi, Berel Lazar, said the Jewish community was shocked.
