Vietnam Protests To Russia Over Murder Acquittals

October 19, 2006 -- Vietnam today protested the acquittals of five Russians accused of killing a Vietnamese student in St. Petersburg in October 2004.


Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung said in a statement that the guilty must be punished according to Russian law and in the public interest.


Vietnam also sent a note of protest to the Russian Embassy in Hanoi.
