Russian Antiracism Activist Stabbed

January 16, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- Police in the Russian city of St. Petersburg say an antiracism campaigner has been hospitalized in serious condition after being repeatedly stabbed, RFE/RL's Russian Service reported.
Police say Ivan Yelin was attacked by a group of youths on January 14 and stabbed some 20 times.
The 21-year-old is a member of the Antifa movement, which has protested against the rise in racially motivated attacks in Russia's former imperial capital.
