Union Head Accused Of 'Acting Against Iran's Interests'
Mansur Osanlu (undated) (Public domain)
July 20, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- Yousef Mulai, the lawyer for the leader of an
Iranian bus drivers union, told Radio Farda that his jailed client faces charges of "acting against [Iran's]
national interests."
Mulai said that union leader Mansur Osanlu can expect to remain in detention for at least a month pending an investigation.
Osanlu, whose activism has landed him in prison in the past, turned up in custody after witnesses said he was attacked and hauled into a car as he stepped off a Tehran bus on July 10.
