Electricity Rationing Eased In Tajikistan

DUSHANBE -- Electricity rationing has been eased in Tajikistan, RFE/RL's Tajik Service reports.

Nozirjon Yodgori, a spokesperson for Tajikistan's major electricity provider, Barqi Tojik, told RFE/RL that electricity rationing has been abandoned in the capital, Dushanbe, and eased elsewhere in the country's provinces.

According to Yodgori, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan recently resumed electricity supplies to Tajikistan.

The rationing regime was introduced early last month after Uzbekistan stopped delivery of Turkmen electricity to Tajikistan.
