MOSCOW -- An official recount of votes in one precinct from the October 11 Moscow City Duma elections has given 16 votes to the liberal opposition Yabloko party, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

The recount was ordered by Moscow's Khamovnichesky Court. Boris Moiseyev, an election commission member from Yabloko, told RFE/RL the Yabloko ballots were found among the votes awarded to the Communist Party.

He said three ballots for the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and one for the Patriots of Russia party were also found among the Communist votes.

According to official results released after the election, no one at polling station No. 192 had voted for Yabloko.

Yabloko leader Sergei Mitrokhin told RFE/RL the information revealed by this limited recount will be used to push the party's demand that all the ballots be recounted.
