Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry officials say that former President Kurmanbek Bakiev's son, who was arrested in London on October 12, has been released on bail.

Maksim Bakiev, 35, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in the United States between 2010 and 2012.

Maksim Bakiev is also wanted in Kyrgyzstan, which he fled when his father, Kurmanbek Bakiev, was ousted as president in April 2010, for crimes including misappropriating millions of dollars of state funds.

A London court will decide on December 7 on Bakiev's possible extradition to the United States.

Kyrgyzstan has made a request to Interpol for Maksim Bakiev to be detained, but Kyrgyzstan and Britain do not have an extradition agreement.

Kurmanbek Bakiev has been given political asylum in Belarus.
