Two British citizens who allegedly caused a Pakistani airliner to be diverted under military escort in England on May 24 have been charged with endangering an aircraft.
Police in Britian made the announcement on May 26, saying that 30-year-old Tayyab Subhani and 41-year-old Mohammed Safdar have been questioned and will appear in court on May 27.
The two reportedly tried to enter the cockpit of a Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777 and allegedly threatened to blow up the plane.
The flight, carrying 308 passengers and 14 crew members, was diverted under military escort from Manchester to London's Stansted Airport.
The flight originated in Lahore, Pakistan.
Officials said they do not believe the incident was terrorism related.
