'Drunk Driver' Kills Russian Cop With Explosive Device


Police in Russia say a suspected drunk driver threw an explosive device at a patrol on January 3, killing one police officer and injuring another.

Officials said the incident happened after officers arrived at the scene of a traffic accident near Moscow.

While the officers were writing their report, police say one of the drivers, who they say was intoxicated, threw an unidentified explosive device.

The man has been detained.

A criminal investigation has been launched.

It is not clear what caused the accident or why the driver had explosives in his car.
