RAWALPINDI, Pakistan -- At least 13 people have been killed in a bomb blast in Pakistan's northwestern city of Rawalpindi.

Media reports cite law-enforcement officials as saying that six army personnel and seven civilians lost their lives in the attack which occurred on January 20 at a market place near Pakistan's military headquarters.

Eyewitnesses say the blast left the market place a mess of twisted shutters and rubble, with pieces of human flesh scattered on the ground.

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain condemned the bombing.

The attack came a day after a bombing claimed by the TTP targeted a security forces' convoy ,killing 20 people and injuring 30 others in northwest Pakistan.
