KYIV -- EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele is traveling to Ukraine on February 11 in yet another bid to help resolve the country's political crisis.

Fuele plans to spend two days in Kyiv.

His visit comes after EU foreign ministers reiterated on February 10 that the European Union remains committed to signing an Association Agreement with Ukraine, while also saying the agreement "does not constitute the final goal in EU-Ukraine relations."

The nearly 3-month-old antigovernment protests in Ukraine were triggered by President Viktor Yanukovych's decision in late November to pull back from signing an Association Agreement with the EU.

Meanwhile, both Ukrainian authorities and the defense team of jailed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko have denied Ukrainian media reports that presidential chief of staff Andriy Kliuyev had visited Tymoshenko in prison for talks.
