Bosnian War Crimes Suspect Arrested In France

French police have arrested a Bosnian Serb man accused of massacring Muslims during Bosnia-Herzegovina’s 1992-1995 war.

Bosnian prosecutors said Radomir Susnjar was arrested on April 4 at the request of Bosnian authorities.

He is expected to be extradited to Bosnia to face a war crimes trial.

Susnjar is accused in connection with the deaths of 59 Muslim Bosniak civilians, including women and children, in the town of Visegrad in mid-1992.

Prosecutors say the former paramilitary personally locked the victims inside a house and set the structure on fire.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia last year sentenced two former Bosnian Serb paramilitaries over their involvement in the burning.

One of them received life in prison, while the other was sentenced to 27 years.
