Two Killed After Car Falls Into Daghestani Gorge

Two people -- a school principal and a teacher -- died when their car fell into a 20-meter gorge in Russia's North Caucasus Republic of Daghestan.

Three schoolchildren who were also in the car were hospitalized with injuries after the incident, which took place in Daghestan’s southern district of Akhty on June 6.

It's the second such incident in Daghestan this week.

On June 4, 10 people were killed near the village of Sagada in Daghestan's western district of Tsunta when a minibus fell into a 40-meter gorge and landed in a strong river.

The driver of the minibus reportedly crashed after attempting to avoid falling rocks.

Six other people, including three children, were hospitalized.

Based on reporting by RIA Novosti and Interfax
