The short black-and-white video released on January 15 begins with an overhead aerial shot of the building in Mosul, which is a militant stronghold in Iraq. The facility is then hit with two 2,000-pound bombs.
Thousands of bits of paper the Pentagon says is money are seen floating above the bombing site after the air strikes.
U.S. officials say that millions of dollars were destroyed, but the exact amount is unknown.
It's at least the second time the United States has bombed the IS's cash stockpiles. Combined with attacking the militants' oil resources, it is part of an effort to sap their financial strength.
