Scores of lawmakers and candidates in Afghanistan's parliamentary election today called for that September 18 vote to be annulled and a fresh vote held.
No results have been declared yet from the election, which was widely regarded as being riddled with fraud.
Reuters reports that the candidates and members of parliament who had sought reelection today denounced the election as illegal.
Nearly one-quarter of the votes have already been disqualified by the Independent Election Commission (IEC), which is itself being investigated for corruption.
The protesters marched past the palace of President Hamid Karzai and UN headquarters.
