The official IRNA new agency also quotes Ahmadinejad as telling Haniyah that the "struggles of the Palestinian people have more success every day."
Neither Iran nor Haniyah's ruling Islamist Hamas faction recognize Israel.
Ahmadinejad talked to Haniyah on the sidelines of the opening ceremonies of the Asian Games in Doha on December 1.
