British Prime Minister David Cameron is continuing his visit to Turkey, with talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Britain has strongly supported Turkey's membership bid in the European Union, and in a speech today, Cameron described Britain as the "strongest possible advocate" for Turkish EU membership.
He said that, given what Turkey has done to defend Europe as a NATO ally, and what Turkey is doing now in Afghanistan alongside the European allies, he is "angry" that Ankara's progress toward membership has been slowed by opponents in the EU.
Cameron will later fly to India, which like Turkey is an important business partner for Britain.
