Flash Analysis -- Verdict In Politkovskaya Murder Case

A Russian court found four defendants not guilty of charges relating to the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, an investigative journalist known for her criticism of the Kremlin.

Rinat Valiulin, the executive editor of RFE/RL's Moscow bureau, says past experience and the state's tight hold on the media suggest two things: 1) public reaction might be muted; and 2) there's little to suggest any new investigation will fare better.
