KABUL -- Female students have been allowed back into schools in Pakistan's western Swat Valley, the result of the February 16 peace agreement between the country's authorities and pro-Taliban leader Maulana Sufi Mohammad.

A spokesman for Mohammad told RFE/RL’s Radio Free Afghanistan that the ban allows only female students wearing burqas -- a special veil that covers the face and the entire body -- to attend classes.
