Pakistan Attack On Western Aid Agency Kills Five

Police in Pakistan say at least five people have been killed in an attack by suspected Islamist militants on an office of a Western aid agency in northwest Pakistan.

Reports say the attackers opened fire and apparently detonated at least one explosive device at the office of the U.S.-founded World Vision agency in the Mansehra district of the Northwest Frontier Province.

A World Vision official quoted by Reuters suggested that all five of those killed were agency employees.

Mansehra, north of the capital, Islamabad, has served as a logistical center for relief efforts since an earthquake in the region killed tens of thousands of people in October 2005.
