A senior Polish official says Russia is delaying sending information to Warsaw from its investigation into the April 10 air crash that killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski.

Poland's top investigator in the case, Edmund Klich, told the "Gazeta Wyborcza" daily today that Russians "don't want to make materials available."

At issue are documents which could confirm or discount the role played in the crash by Russian air traffic controllers and technical equipment at the remote airport in Smolensk, western Russia.

The crash claimed the lives of all 96 people aboard.

The delegation had been en route to ceremonies marking 70 years since the massacre of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police at the nearby Katyn forest during World War II.
