Sixth KrasAir Hunger-Striker Hospitalized in Russia

TEXT SIZE - +
KRASNOYARSK, Russia -- The sixth hunger striker out of 17 flight attendants at KrasAir (Krasnoyarsk Airlines) in eastern Siberia has been hospitalized, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

The flight attendant was reportedly taken to a cardiology institute on May 26.

Eleven flight attendants continue their hunger strike over a demand for their unpaid salaries.

Protesters say they have not been paid for eight months.

KrasAir had to cancel all of its flights in October except for two -- Moscow to Norilsk and the return flight -- due to economic problems.
