Roadside Bomb Kills Five Afghan Civilians

TEXT SIZE - +
A roadside bomb has killed five Afghan civilians in an eastern province.

Deputy provincial police chief Major Mohammad Hussain said a bus full of people struck the explosives while driving near Ghazni city, capital of Ghazni Province.

The dead included women and children.

Hussain said another 11 people were wounded.

The bus was traveling from Kabul to the southern city of Kandahar.

There was no claim of responsibility for the bombing, but officials blamed the blast on the "enemies of Afghanistan," a standard phrase used to refer to the Taliban.
