Serbia Arrests Nine For Kosovo Killings

26 October 2005 -- Serbia has arrested nine people for the 1999 murder of 48 Kosovo Albanians found buried with others in a mass grave near Belgrade.

A spokesman for Serbia's war crimes prosecutor said today the nine were policemen at the time of the killing. Six of them were still on active duty at the time of their arrest.

It was the first arrest linked to the discovery in 2001 of mass graves containing the remains of hundreds of victims of the 1998-99 Kosovo conflict.
