As part of the anniversary celebrations, President Mikheil Saakashvili will open an international forum on Democracy and Transformation in Europe later today.

The festivities will culminate on 23 November with a concert and fireworks display on Tbilisi's Freedom Square.

The presidents of Estonia, Ukraine, and Romania will attend some of the events.

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Euroasia Matt Bryza has arrived in Tbilisi for the anniversary celebrations and will also meet Saakashvili and Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli.

The Rose Revolution of November 2003 toppled the government of former President Eduard Shevardnadze and brought Saakashvili, a pro-Western reformer, to power.
