At Least 17 Killed In Iraqi Violence
18 December 2005 -- At least 17 Iraqis were killed as violence flared today following the 15 December parliamentary elections.
Eleven Iraqi security personnel were among those killed in a string of attacks in or north of the capital Baghdad since late last night.
After several days of relative calm amid a massive security clampdown that was lifted yesterday, the Iraqi branch of Al-Qaeda has warned minority Sunni Arabs against being lulled into a false sense of security by the polls.
