Chechen Official Dies Following December Car Accident

5 January 2006 -- The deputy speaker of the Chechen parliament has died, two weeks after a car accident in which he was seriously injured.


Russian media reported today that Sultan Belimkhanov died on 2 January and has already been buried in Chechnya.


Belimkhanov was taken to hospital in Moscow following the 16 December accident in Chechnya that left one other person dead.
