(RFE/RL) 5 January 2006 (RFE/RL) -- Bahodyr Matlyubov has been appointed Uzbekistan's new interior minister.

Matlyubov previously held high positions in the Interior Ministry and the Customs Committee.

He replaces Zokir Almatov, who left for health reasons last month.
