Anti-British Protesters March, Bury Their Dead In Iran

26 January 2006 -- Thousands of people shouting anti-British slogans marched through the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz today as the victims of a double bombing were carried to their graves.
Authorities in Tehran have blamed Britain for the 24 January attacks that reportedly killed at least eight people and wounded 46 others.
Britain has denied involvement in the attacks. A group campaigning for independence for Iran's Arab minority claimed responsibility for the attacks, which targeted a government building and a bank. The claim of responsibility was posted on a website. It's authenticity could not be verified.
Ahvaz has seen a wave of unrest in the past year, including ethnic riots in April and a series of bombings before a presidential election in June. A double bombing in October killed six people and injured more than 100 others. Oil pipelines in the region have also been sabotaged in recent months.
