20 February 2006 – Officials in Argentina say that Bosnian-Serb war crimes suspect Milan Lukic is being extradited to the UN war crimes court at The Hague in the Netherlands.
The AP quotes Argentinian federal justice officials as saying Lukic was put on a plane headed for Spain, and will eventually arrive at The Hague.
Argentinian police captured Lukic in August 2005.
The UN court has charged Lukic, a former paramilitary soldier, with abducting and killing Muslims during the Bosnian war in the 1990s.
A Serbian court last year sentenced him in absentia to 20 years in prison for his involvement in the abductions.
