Bomb Near Shi'ite Shrine Kills At Least 10

April 3, 2006 -- Iraqi police say a car bomb exploded near a Shi'ite shrine in northeastern Baghdad, killing at least 10 people and wounding 30 others.
The explosion appeared timed to come after evening prayers.
Sectarian violence has escalated since a February bombing of an important Shi'ite shrine in Samarra and reprisal attacks against Sunni Muslims.
Reports said 17 other Iraqis were killed today in violent acts around the country.
Also today, the U.S. military said five Marines and were killed in the western Anbar province when their truck rolled over in a flash flood. One Marine was injured, and two Marines and one sailor were missing after the accident.
